Highways, byways, Guy ways…

HEY.

Time to take a 2,197.4 mile walk. (Give or take a few feet)

Back to the trail

As some of you know, I walked off the Appalachian Trail at the end of March and thought I was leaving it forever. I thought I was too.

Things have changed.

By the time I arrived in Knoxville I was reconsidering my decision. By the time I picked up my rental car the next morning, I was planning. Before I left Tennessee I was talking to the always supportive (and endlessly patient) Danielle who helped me plan my return.

When I got home to Danielle and Cami I realized that although I am a family kinda guy, these two were happy and were thoroughly ready to support my thru-hike no matter what.
The thru-hike is back on.

I’ll post more in the next day about what this thru-hike will look like… as I prefer, the alternative to the norm is how this is playing out and I cannot wait!

Thanks to all who supported me and offered their best wishes to me. The mental part of a thru-hike is never to be underestimated. THAT is the real lesson here.

Peace. Love. Hiking. – Elfmeister
