Highways, byways, Guy ways…

HEY.

Time to take a 2,197.4 mile walk. (Give or take a few feet)

The time is now.

Hey.

After years of hoping for the opportunity to walk the Appalachian Trail, I’m less than a week away from my Northbound (NOBO) thru hike. I’ll be starting on March 5, 2024 at Amicalola Falls, Georgia on my way to Mt. Katahdin, Maine

The past few months have flown by as I hit the gym, bought gear, tested equipment, walked both on concrete and trails and thought almost constantly about setting foot on my dream trip of a lifetime.
Before I retired, I had a lot of people ask if I would be blogging this journey. That interest convinced me to launch this website so I’d have a place to drop my thoughts and share pictures of my life on the AT. It also will allow you to follow me without being force fed ads by social media.
I’ll post updates as T-Mobile allows. If you care to join me for a few miles, keep an eye on my progress and we can figure out where we can meet up. I’d love the company.

With all that said, thanks to everyone who has helped me on my journey whether through advice, gifts or well wishes.

Stay tuned!

Greatest hiking shirt I’ve ever owned! It’s beautiful, like the people who gave it to me.
